Stay at our hotel on your way to the Jim Beam Distillery, a stop along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The distillery is just 8 miles to the south of us, in scenic Clermont, Kentucky. The family history of this distillery goes back seven generations, starting with a family of German immigrants who arrived in Kentucky in the 18th century and continues on to the present day. At the distillery, Jim Beam produces both the Jim Beam label as well as the Small Batch collection, which are aged between 6 and 9 years.
Tours of the distillery are available from Monday through Saturday every half hour between 9:30 to 3:30, with a break around lunchtime. The gift shop is open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. Buy your tickets in advance at the Jim Beam website, especially if you’re visiting with a larger group.
As one of the largest distilleries on the Bourbon Trail, there’s a lot to see during the Jim Beam tour. The tour covers the early history of the Beam family’s distilling, as well as a detailed walkthrough of the entire process, from grain to barrel to store. The tour also includes an up-close view of one of the essential steps: constructing the barrels the bourbon is aged in!
Like any good tour, the last stop is, of course, a tasting room, with a variety of bourbons to sip and enjoy, as well as a gift shop with a huge range of exclusive memorabilia. Enjoy the tour responsibly by assigning a designated driver, or booking transportation to and from our hotel near the Jim Beam Distillery.
